Wade comes to Lehigh with an extensive background in public service. He retired from the Bethlehem Police Department after twenty years of distinguished service. He is currently employed as the Deputy Director of Emergency Management and 9-1-1 for a mid-sized city. Prior to joining the police department, he was an officer in the United States Army where he served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He left the army after eight and a half years of service upon returning home after serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2002 to 2004. During his military service he attained the rank of Captain. He has extensive knowledge of military logistics.  His mission was integral in working with coalition forces to help rebuild the Iraqi infrastructure and local economy. He also has extensive knowledge in collective bargaining and police labor law having served as a union official for eighteen years in various roles up to and including several terms as President. Most importantly, he is married and a father of a beautiful little girl.
